Out of those 82 police officers, 7 of those detainees have already been sentenced, says Garry Desrosiers, spokesperson for PNH

According to information provided by Divisional Inspector Garry Desrosiers, spokesperson for the Police Nationale d'Haiti (PNH) on Wednesday, 82 police officers are imprisoned on the orders of the Haitian justice system across the national territory.

On taking stock of set of files being processed at the General Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti (IGPNH), Garry Desrosiers, the spokesperson for the PNH indicated that 82 police officers are imprisoned under the orders of justice in the various prison centers in Haiti. Out of them, 7 detainees have already been sentenced.

On speaking about the assassination of former President Jovenel Moïse, Gary Desrosiers said that the IGPNH has already sent its investigation report to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) for the necessary follow-up.

Additionally, the IGPNH recommended the dismissal of the police officer Jean Josué Clotaire, known as "Kondagana", police officer of the 20th promotion and also member of the Barikad Crew group.

Kondagana is accused of murdering Vertil Élie in Canapé-Vert on Wednesday January 26, 2022.

With regards to the file of journalist Romelson Vilsaint, who died last October, Gary Desrosiers pointed out that police officers and witnesses are being heard. He assured that, the IGPNH, undertakes to communicate its investigation report shortly.

Gary Desrosiers pinpointed that the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPNH) is working with the DCPJ on other arms and ammunition trafficking cases in which, some police officers are involved.
