After shooting a Boda Boda rider at the school entrance, the UPDF driver was arrested

The Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) has apprehended the driver of the UPDF vehicle that shot and killed a Boda Boda rider on Friday morning at Kawanda Senior Secondary School in Nakisangye Zone, Nabweru Division in Wakiso District.

Abdul Ssali, a Boda Boda rider and inhabitant of Kirinya Bigo, Kawanda in Wakiso District, was arrested, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire.

“CMI officials nabbed Ssali, and he is being held on murder charges,” Assistant Superintendent of Police Owoyesigyire stated.

After a fight between the two, Ssali was operating a UPDF vehicle. According to authorities, Waligo was shot in the left shoulder, and the bullet exited through the right shoulder. He died instantly.

Ssali told CMI investigators that he acted in self-defense after Boda Boda riders attempted to lynch him in front of his senior three daughters, whom he had just collected up from school as the country’s schools concluded for the third term.

Although military and police investigators are currently gathering evidence from the crime scene in order to establish the facts, Ssali is being held on murder accusations.

According to eyewitnesses, the shooting was the result of a road rage incident at the school gate.
