Xiaomi’s 13T Series: Power and Precision with a Surprising Absence of Wireless Charging

Introduction to the 13T Series
Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi, has recently launched its highly anticipated 13T series. The new range, which includes the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro, has been received with much interest due to its power-packed features and water-resistant capabilities. Interestingly, the series has also attracted attention for its surprising lack of wireless charging support, a feature widely available in most modern smartphones.
In-Depth Specifications of Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro
The Xiaomi 13T series comprises two models – the Xiaomi 13T and the Xiaomi 13T Pro. Both smartphones come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display featuring a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and HDR10+ support. Xiaomi has employed Gorilla Glass Victus to cover the displays, enhancing their durability. Impressively, both models have been bestowed with the IP68 certification, ensuring high resistance to dust and water.
Powering the standard Xiaomi 13T is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, while the Pro model utilizes the superior Snapdragon 888. Both models come equipped with 8 GB of RAM, although the Pro model offers a slightly larger storage option of 128 GB or 256 GB, compared to the standard model’s 128 GB.
Leica-Co-Developed Camera System
A standout feature of the new series is the camera system, developed in partnership with renowned German company, Leica. Both the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro are equipped with a 108-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 5-megapixel telemacro sensor. The Pro model takes it a step further by incorporating a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Remarkably, the Xiaomi 13T series supports 8K video recording, a considerable upgrade from the standard 4K recording available on most smartphones today.
Battery life and Charging Capabilities
Both models are backed by a 5000 mAh battery. However, the charging capabilities differ between the two. The standard model supports 67W wired charging, whereas the Pro model offers 120W wired charging, enabling it to be fully charged in just 17 minutes. Despite these advanced charging features, neither model supports wireless charging, which could be a potential drawback for some users.
Immersive Audio Experience with Harman Kardon
The Xiaomi 13T series also boasts about its superior audio quality, courtesy of the stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon. The renowned American audio equipment manufacturer has ensured that users get an immersive audio experience while using the Xiaomi 13T series smartphones.
Final Thoughts
In summary, Xiaomi’s 13T series smartphones come packed with high-end features such as a powerful processor, a Leica camera system, and fast charging capabilities. They are also water and dust resistant, further enhancing their appeal. However, the absence of wireless charging could be a potential deal-breaker for some prospective buyers. The exact pricing and availability of the series are yet to be announced.
