To effectively manage plastic waste, Morocco’s waste management company Arma is exploring the possibility of establishing a recycling plant in Ivory Coast.
The deals are in the stage of negotiations with plastic waste suppliers and are yet to be finalised. “The plant is expected to be operational within a few months,” said said Chief Executive, Youssef Ahizoune.
The expansion opportunities in Ivory Coast capital Abidjan comes as part of a solution to reduce and manage emissions in the African country, he said. The company has set up waste management operations across 16 cities in Morocco. It is now looking to set up plants across the continent while maintaining that reducing carbon footprint is a priority.
