

A total of 40 homes were affected by rains and flooding during the early morning hours in the northern zone of Chiapas, informed the state Civil Protection Secretary.
In the municipality of Pichucalco, 30 houses were damaged by the overflowing of the Chalatengo stream, while in another 10 houses in the municipality of Ixtapangajoya, in the Nuevo Poblado Llanos Morelos ejido, the water reached up to 40 centimeters.
As a result of the recent rains in the area, due to the entrance of a cold front, several families were evacuated to a temporary shelter in the ejidal house, in order to guarantee their physical integrity. So far, no injuries or human losses have been reported.
In the municipality of Tecpatán, elements of Civil Protection conducted a patrol to detect damages, where they reported landslides and collapse of the road surface in the Tecpatán-Emiliano Zapata, Tecpatán-Francisco León and Tecpatán – Isla and Yomonó – Río Blanco stretches.
Due to the increase in the level of the La Sierra River as a result of rainfall, the Secretariat of Civil Protection carried out the preventive evacuation of three families in the municipality of Ixhuatán.
