In a stern warning, the Amhara Prosperity Party (APP) has declared its determination to address the growing internal disputes within the party and the rise of armed groups in the Amhara region. The party emphasizes the urgent need to maintain peace, security, and economic stability in the face of reports indicating militarized conflicts and a credible information blackout in the region.

Disturbing reports of ongoing military engagements have recently emerged, with local residents and medical professionals shedding light on the severity of the situation.

According to sources, a conflict erupted inside the Melake Andnet Monastery, situated in the East Gojam Zone of the Amhara Region's Debre Elias Woreda. Tragically, numerous worshipers were injured, and several lost their lives during the violence. 

Shockingly, more than 95 percent of the 600 residents of the monastery were either injured, killed, or forced to flee in recent days.

Additionally, over 200 government security personnel sustained injuries during the clashes. Medical professionals have reported a continuous influx of injured security forces seeking treatment at local hospitals over the past five days. The situation has exacerbated concerns over the escalating armed conflict and its impact on the region's stability.
