FAO Advances Nutrition through Integrated Livestock Management in Chad

Following their activities in Kanem, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has continued its mission to disseminate the findings from its formative research, with their latest destination being Barh-el-Ghazal on the auspicious day of August 29, 2023.
The heart of their endeavor lies in the ambitious initiative titled “Integrated Livestock Management for the Nutrition of Children from 0 to 5 years.” As part of this commendable project, the dedicated FAO team set foot in the town of Moussoro. Here, amidst the tranquil landscapes and earnest aspirations, they engaged in a series of significant interactions to further their noble cause.
One of the notable encounters during their visit was with the esteemed governor of the province, General Loum Hinaissou Laïna. He voiced his profound concerns regarding the prevailing issue of severe acute malnutrition that has been gripping the region. In a moment of genuine appreciation, Governor Laïna directed words of commendation towards the diligent researchers from both Chad and the United States who have been steadfastly contributing to the study.
His words echoed a sentiment of unwavering respect, as he recognized their work as truly indispensable. Moreover, his speech carried an essence of solidarity and promise as he reassured the FAO team of unwavering support from the governing bodies.
