Fire at Voronezh Oil Depot
Simultaneously, another incident was reported at an oil depot in the Russian city of Voronezh. The governor of the region confirmed that emergency services were battling a burning fuel tank at the depot. Over 100 firefighters and 30 units of equipment were deployed on site. Rosneft Oil Depot Fire
In another incident, a large fire at the Rosneft oil depot broke out in the early hours. Social media was soon flooded with videos showing a large cloud of smoke rising from the facility, and photos showing the terminal seemingly on fire. Preliminary reports suggest that two drones exploded at the terminal, causing significant damage. The depot was reportedly attacked by two unidentified aircraft, causing damage to the terminal’s boiler room and creating two deep holes next to the building. Reports also suggested the presence of a military barracks of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, about 30 meters from the site of the explosions.
Fire under Control
According to the city administration, the fire was localized on an area of 200 square meters. The open burning was liquidated within a short span, and by 03.00 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished. The city administration has denied any damage to the facility’s oil tanks. They affirmed that there was no oil spill as a result of the fire and that there had been no casualties.
Fire in Bryansk
Another large fire was reported in the city of Bryansk, at an oil storage facility. It was reported that there had been two explosions, followed by a tower of flames. The fire broke out at a facility owned by oil pipeline company Transneft. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that nobody had been hurt in the incident. The Russian Energy Ministry assured that there was no threat to diesel and gasoline supplies in the Bryansk region after the incident and that there were enough fuel stockpiles. The ministry is assessing the scale of the blaze.
