Two separate fatal incidents have occurred in Ireland, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives. A female teenager died after a tractor hit a ditch in County Cavan, while an elderly male pedestrian was killed in a car collision in County Louth.

Tractor Accident in County Cavan

A female teenager lost her life in a tragic incident when a tractor hit a ditch on the L2514 in Loughduff, County Cavan. The incident occurred at about 23:00 BST on Tuesday. The teenager's body was taken to the mortuary in Cavan General Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted.

A male, also in his late teens, who was driving the tractor, escaped the incident uninjured. The road where the accident occurred is currently closed as forensic collision investigators carry out their examination.

Pedestrian Collision in County Louth

In a separate incident, a male pedestrian in his 80s was killed after being hit by a car in Annagassan, Lynns, County Louth. The incident took place at about 19:55 BST on Tuesday. The elderly man's body has been transported to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post mortem will be conducted. The driver of the car involved in the incident was uninjured.

Appeal for Witnesses

The Gardaí (Irish police) are investigating both incidents and have issued an appeal for any witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the incidents at the time they occurred.
