Collision between Bus and Car Involving Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan
The deputy high commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh, Qamar Abbas Khokhar, along with his family members, had a fortunate escape after a high-speed bus collided head-on with their car in Brahmanbaria. The incident occurred on Friday noon when the diplomat and his family were traveling from Sarail Khantihata to Moulvibazar’s Srimangal. Despite the severity of the collision, no injuries were reported, and they were rescued by the highway police.
Details of the Accident and Police Response
According to the officer in charge of Sarail Khantihata highway police, Akul Chandra Biswas, DHC Qamar Abbas Khokhar, accompanied by his wife Rehena Sarwar Khokhar, son Mohammad Khokhar, and daughter Huda Abbas Khokhar, were en route to their destination. The deputy high commissioner was driving the car when the accident occurred near the Rampur area of Vijaynagar upazila. A Duranta Paribahan passenger bus traveling from the opposite direction collided with their car.

Despite the impact, the deputy high commissioner and his family members miraculously remained unhurt. However, the front part of their car sustained significant damage. Promptly informed about the incident, the highway police arrived at the scene and successfully rescued them from the collision site.
In response to the accident, the police detained the bus driver, Md Saiful Islam, aged 30, and seized the bus. Meanwhile, the deputy high commissioner and his family continued their journey to Moulvibazar in another vehicle provided by the authorities. The officer in charge, OC Akul Chandra Biswas, confirmed that a case would be lodged regarding the incident.
