An explosion was registered in a PEMEX gas pipeline in Acambay, in the north of the State of Mexico.

A strong explosion was recorded in a pipeline of Petróleos Mexicanos @Pemex. It is located in the municipality of Acambay, north of the State of Mexico.

This pipeline is located exactly in the community of Ejido San José Bocto. The explosion was reported by residents in nearby areas. It is a high danger zone because several Pemex pipelines cross it. So far there were no fatalities or injuries.

State Civil Protection, firefighters and members of the National Guard immediately arrived at the site, where they guarded the perimeter and worked to extinguish the fire that was generated after the explosion. A long column of smoke continued to rise into the sky.

The PEMEX pipeline where the accident occurred runs from Tula Hidalgo to Toluca in the State of Mexico, and is currently considered by the authorities to be an extremely dangerous pipeline due to the large number of illegal pipelines it has.
