Training Session for Polling Staff Ahead of 5th LAHDC Kargil Elections

Auditorium Hall, Kargil – September 27, 2023 – In preparation for the upcoming 5th LAHDC Kargil Elections scheduled for October 4, 2023, ADC Kargil (Election Officer) Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, along with Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil, supervised a comprehensive training session for polling staff at the Auditorium Hall, Kargil.

Ensuring a Smooth Electoral Process

During the training session, ADC Kargil diligently briefed the Presiding and Polling Officers on their pivotal roles and responsibilities in the electoral process. He emphasized the importance of implementing all instructions regarding polling day meticulously. Additionally, he urged the polling staff to conduct their duties with utmost honesty and to maintain seamless coordination with each other and with sectorial and Zonal Magistrates to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.

Empowering the Electoral Workforce

Approximately 300 employees from various departments participated in the training session, where they received essential training related to polling procedures. Among the key areas covered was the proper handling and operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Furthermore, the attendees were briefed on the specific duties assigned to Presiding Officers and Polling Officers.

Thorough Preparation for Election Day

The training program also delved into detailed discussions on crucial aspects of the election process, including procedures for conducting mock polls, handling tender votes, maintaining the poll diary, and correctly sealing election papers and EVMs. These comprehensive preparations aim to ensure a transparent and efficient electoral process for the 5th LAHDC Kargil Elections.
