Modern Warfare 3 Limits Third-Person Mode to Zombies and Custom Games

With its much-anticipated release on November 10, Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) has held its ground as a fan-favorite first-person shooter (FPS). The game has introduced several new features, including Tac Stance and a Gear-based Perk system, while also retaining popular movement mechanics from its predecessor, Modern Warfare 2 (MW2). A notable Carry Forward feature in MW3 permits players to transfer weapons, Operators, and more from MW2, enhancing continuity and gameplay experience.
MW3 Limits Third-Person Mode to Zombies and Custom Games
Despite these improvements, the third-person mode, a beloved feature from MW2, is conspicuously absent from MW3’s multiplayer. This mode offers a unique gameplay experience, providing a wider view of the map and influencing movement strategies. However, players can still access the third-person perspective in the Zombies mode and through Custom Games.
No Short-Term Plans for Third-Person Playlist
During a Reddit AMA, the MW3 development team addressed numerous queries and issues raised by players. However, in response to requests for a third-person mode in multiplayer, the team stated that there are no short-term plans to include this mode. This leaves players to primarily enjoy the classic FPS perspective across most modes, including the campaign.
Upcoming Features in MW3
The developers also revealed several upcoming features for MW3, including non-disbanding lobbies and weapon balancing. However, they have chosen to sidestep the contentious issue of Skill-Based Matchmaking, a major source of frustration for many players. Despite numerous appeals, the developers have remained silent on this matter. Meanwhile, fans of MW3 can look forward to guides on the best weapons in the game and upcoming features like Ranked Play.
