Hespress Bags the Digital Media Award at the 21st Arab Media Forum

Moroccan Portal Hespress Shines at the Arab Media Forum

Moroccan electronic newspaper, Hespress, has been awarded the prestigious Digital Media Award for the best information platform in the Arab world. The accolade was presented at the 21st Arab Media Forum (AMF), held in Dubai. The General Director of Hespress, Hassane El Guennouni, graciously accepted the award from a member of the Arab Media Award’s board of directors.

The AMF is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and the Governor of Dubai. The forum witnessed participation from about 3,000 global leaders, including ministers, heads of media institutions, digital platform editors, renowned writers, thinkers, and influential media personalities.

Arab Media Awards – A Celebration of Journalism

The Arab Media Awards ceremony, organized by the Dubai Press Club, marked the high point of the first day of the AMF. The award categories are divided into three primary areas: journalism, visual, and digital. These also include the “Media Personality of the Year” category.

The Arab Journalism Award in the political journalism category was won by Ahmed Diab of Al-Ahram Al-Arabi. Jamal Gohar of Al-Sharq Al-Awsat clinched the award in the investigative journalism category. The economic journalism category was won by Magdy Abou Al-Foutouh from the Egyptian newspaper Al-Chourouk, while Asma Al Chamsi from Majid magazine triumphed in the children’s journalism category.

Other Noteworthy Winners

Several other entities also bagged prestigious awards across different categories. The financial portal Arqaam won the Digital Media Award for the best economic platform, and the platform “FilGoal” was chosen as the best sports platform. The program Morning with Siba won the Visual Media Award in the best economic program category, while the program Red Line in Bold won in the best social program category. The program On the Tracks of the Arabs won in the best cultural program category.

The film “Memory of the Sands” won the award for the best documentary work, and the program “Fi Al-Goal” won the award for the best sports program.

Arab Journalism Award – Best Columnist and Media Personality

Writer Sawsan Al-Abtah was awarded the Arab Journalism Award in the best columnist category by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Additionally, Mohammed Al-Rumaihi was honored as the media personality of the year.
