Diego Alemão, a former participant in Big Brother Brazil (BBB), has been released from police custody after posting a bail of R$ 4,000. The reality show winner was arrested in the Leblon neighborhood, Rio’s South Zone, while in a taxi, carrying a 32-caliber revolver.
Alemão disclosed that the firearm found under his car was unloaded and had been in his possession for many years. Additionally, he confirmed that the weapon was legally registered. The former BBB participant stated that he had the weapon due to threats he has been facing.
This is not the first time Alemão has had issues with law enforcement. In April 2020, he was arrested for drunk driving and assaulting the driver of the car he had collided with. This incident adds to the list of legal problems that the 42-year-old has encountered over the years.
Diego Alemão is a well-remembered figure in the Big Brother Brazil series, having won the seventh edition of the reality show. Despite his recent run-ins with the law, his popularity among the show’s audience remains largely unaffected. Whether these legal issues will have any long-term impact on his public image and career remains to be seen.
