Parineeti Chopra & Raghav Chadha followed a ‘no gifts’ policy for their wedding, Couple’s milni ceremony was performed with ₹11

A Grand Affair in Udaipur
Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha tied the knot in a grand Punjabi-style wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan on September 24. The wedding ceremonies took place at the Leela Palace and The Oberoi Udaivilas hotels, both known for their opulence and stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The couple had visited these hotels two months prior to the wedding and made the final bookings. It’s reported that apart from the two main hotels, bookings were also made in other hotels in the region to accommodate the high-profile guests.
Unique Wedding Reception Invitation
A picture of the couple’s wedding reception invitation had gone viral on social media. The invitation was sent out by Sunil and Alka Chadha, parents of Raghav Chadha. The reception was held in Chandigarh on September 30 at the Taj Chandigarh. More than 200 guests were expected to attend the wedding, including 50 VVIPs.
Traditional Punjabi Wedding
The couple followed traditional Punjabi customs for their wedding. The festivities began with the chooda ceremony at a grand suite in The Leela Palace, followed by a sehrabandi ceremony for the groom. The baraat traveled by boat from the Leela Palace to the wedding venue. The Jaimala ceremony took place at 3:30 p.m., followed by the pheras at 4:00 pm. The Vidai occurred thereafter, wrapping up the wedding celebrations by 6:30 pm.
The Wedding Attires
For the wedding, Raghav was dressed in a white sherwani, while Parineeti donned a cream and champagne lehenga designed by Manish Malhotra. The couple shared their official wedding album on Instagram the day after the wedding. Numerous photos and videos from the wedding have been shared online, including a video of Parineeti’s father, Pawan Chopra, with Raghav at the wedding mandap.
A Gift-less Wedding
In an unconventional move, the couple decided not to accept any gifts from their wedding guests. Even the traditional gift exchange between the bride’s and groom’s families, known as ‘milni’ in Hindu weddings, was limited to just ₹11. Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Madhu Chopra, confirmed this when she was asked by the press about the wedding gift she gave to Parineeti. She stated that they had been requested not to give any gifts, and hence, she only gave her blessings.
Notable Absences
Despite the grandeur of the wedding, some notable figures were absent from the festivities. Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti’s cousin, was not present at the wedding due to her work commitments. Filmmaker Karan Johar, who was expected to attend the wedding alongside designer Manish Malhotra, had to skip the event due to a family emergency.
The Grand Reception
The couple held a grand reception at 8:30 p.m. following the wedding. The theme was reportedly titled ‘A Night Of Amore’. The duo had reportedly opted for a ‘Pearl White Indian’ wedding theme. Personalized key cards were offered to the guests upon arrival, and the menu was a fusion of Punjabi and Rajasthani cuisines.
Engagement and Pre-Wedding Festivities
The couple got engaged earlier this year on May 13 at the Kapurthala House in Delhi. Several political leaders attended the event. The pre-wedding festivities started in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on September 22 with a turmeric and music ceremony. The sangeet ceremony, held on September 23, was all about celebrating the 90’s. Guests received a cassette, along with a sweet, personalized message, curated by the bride herself.
