Emma Corrin has called for the Oscars to replace its best actor and actress awards with gender-neutral categories.
The Crown star, who won a Golden Globe for best actress for playing Diana in season four of the Netflix drama, has publicly identified as non-binary since 2021.
Speaking to the media about the possibility of gender-free categories at major film awards, Corrin said: “I hope for a future in which that happens.”
Corrin added: “I don’t think the categories are inclusive enough at the moment. It’s about everyone being able to feel acknowledged and represented.
