Iraqi Kurdistan MP delivers 25,000$ to Kurdish-affected people in Syria

A member of the Iraqi Kurdistan parliament has announced that he will send humanitarian aid to the Kurdish people in Syria very soon.

Ali Hama Salih independent MP of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq told BNN reporter that, he decided to not collect his parliamentarian salary for the five previous months due to a political decision coming up with the illegal termination of the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament.

“I asked my staff to run the all months salaries and provide humanitarian aid to be delivered to Kurdish people in Syria (Rojava).” He added.

Based on the KRG system, a Kurdish MP in the northern region of Iraq gets nearly 5000$ as a monthly salary, therefore the MP’s staff has 25,000$ to provide basic necessities for affected people in Syria.

Syrian Health Ministry in a statement announced that the death toll from the earthquakes has risen to 812 deaths and 1,449 injuries, in the provinces of Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama, Idleb Countryside and Tartous.

Also, the reports from other areas which are out of the control of the Syrian government recorded at least 632 deaths and hundreds of injuries in the Turkey- Syria border areas.
